Types of temporary contract

There are three types of temporary contract:

  • Work and service contract: This type of contract is made when the company needs a worker to perform a specific work or service. The duration of the contract will depend on the time it takes for the work or service, must be made in writing and cannot exceed 3 years.
  • Occasional contract due to production circumstances: When a company has an amount of accumulated tasks within its normal operation and requires an additional person to carry out those tasks. The contract may be part-time or full-time and cannot exceed six months in duration.
  • Interim contract: This contract is concluded in those cases where a worker withdraws from their work due to special circumstances, leaving their position reserved, a temporary person is hired to cover said position until the worker returns to their work.
