What should an invoice include?

An invoice must incorporate the necessary information for the document to be legally valid. That is:

  • Title “Invoice” so that there is no possible confusion with another type of document.
  • Invoice date.
  • Correlative invoice number.
  • Basic information of the invoice issuer: name and surnames, company name, NIF and address.
  • Basic information of the invoice recipient: name and surnames, company name, NIF and address. Simplified invoices are an exception in this point, because they do not specify the invoice recipient.
  • The concepts (products, services or operations) that the invoice includes.
  • Amount of concepts without taxes: price per unit and per invoice line.
  • Applicable taxes and withholdings.
  • The taxable base and the total of the invoice.
